As I travelled from Delhi. I will tell you the travel options from there. You can easily reach Dharamshala in multiple ways, including train, bus, air, or private cab, as per your budget and travel experience. 

Here are the most suitable travel options:

By Bus: There are many overnight buses operating between Delhi and Dharamshala. You can take any bus from a stop like Kashmiri Gate or Anand Vihar. Most suitable for budget travelers. 

By Private Car/Self-Drive: It’s a convenient choice for travelers who prioritize safety and flexibility. I also love a long mountain drive. 

By Train: It’s an option that you can consider. But the train only runs up to Pathankot Railway Station. From there, you must complete the remaining journey by road.   

By Air: Traveling by air is the most convenient and fastest way to travel. Kangra Airport is the nearest airport. From there, proceed by road to Dharamshala. 

Important Tips for Travelers to Plan a New Year Party in Dharamshala

Book Travel Arrangements Early: During the peak festive season in the last week of December, prices of transport, hotels, and other services inflate, so book them well in advance. 

Pack Essentials: Packing should be weather-prepared. You must carry warm clothes and essential medicines. A trekking plan must have a power bank, energy bars, and others. 

Keep Buffer time in your itinerary: Winter weather and traffic during the festive season can affect the travel schedule. So keep extra time for comfortable travel. 

Carry Cash: The Network on the mountain can be poor, so carry enough cash for your personal expenses. 

Check Weather Before Travel: Weather can be disruptive in the hills, so always check before planning and departure.
